Welcome to Prais Dental Care
Whether you are new to the area or simply looking for better quality dental care, we would love to meet you. We are always pleased to welcome new patients to our practice and are happy to accommodate adults and children alike.

For the convenience of our patients, we offer an early surgery every Tuesday and Wednesday morning and Saturday morning hygienist appointments. We are happy to accommodate private patients on Sunday mornings on request.

Tailored dental care for all
When you come for your initial appointment, the first thing you’ll notice is how incredibly welcome we make you feel. Then you’ll find out how much we want to get to know you, and your mouth. We will ask you for a thorough dental and general medical history, including details of any medication you are taking. This isn’t just us being nosy, it’s so we can provide the most appropriate treatment for you. Please arrive 15 minutes early for your first appointment in order to register and complete the various formalities before being seen by the dentist.

During your first appointment, we will undertake a thorough dental assessment and take x-rays, if necessary. We also check for oral cancer as standard, as early detection is vital. The dentist may use an intra-oral camera (with your permission) to aid discussion and help demonstrate any issues. This will allow us to ascertain the condition of your teeth and supporting tissues, together with your disease risk, so we can formulate a detailed treatment plan that will include a full breakdown of costs.

Remember we also welcome children (see Children’s Dentistry) so bring along your little ones for regular check-ups and tooth friendly tips.

Preventative Dentistry
We also have four helpful hygienists at the practice who can boost your long term oral health by helping to prevent gum disease and making sure your teeth stay lovely and clean.

Specialist dental care and referrals
We welcome referrals from external dental practices for complex dental treatments including tooth straightening (orthodontics); specialist gum treatment (periodontist) and dental implants to replace your loose dentures and fill unsightly gaps in your smile and advanced root canal treatment (endodontist, practice limited to endodontics). Should you need any of these services you can just give us a call and book an appointment to arrange a consultation.

Your safety
Please be assured that we undertake all necessary precautions to ensure patient and staff safety. We follow recommended safety guidelines regarding radiation (we offer digital x-rays to reduce exposure), disposable items, instrument sterilisation and the safe disposal of clinical waste. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have about your safety and protection.

Paying for treatment
We offer a comprehensive range of dental treatments and understand that many patients are worried about the costs. We offer Prais Dental Care plans to help spread the cost of dentistry in monthly instalments, as well as affordable private treatments. We offer interest free finance to help you pay for more complex treatments over 12 months. See Fees & Prais Dental Care and please contact us if you have any further questions.
